Himalayan Salt Therapy Spa is Excited to Announce the Offering of Infant Massage Classes for Parents
In addition to being a licensed massage therapist, Makayla is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor through the world renown Liddle Kidz Foundation. These classes are for parents (moms and dads) and primary caregivers of infants and toddlers. You maybe wondering why Infant Massage Classes would be beneficial, What kind of stress could an infant have?
Some infants have had a difficult transition from life in the womb to the outside world. Sometimes bonding is impeded due to medications used in delivery or medical procedures or sometimes just by circumstances in life. Learning how to give your baby a nurturing massage is a great way for a parent to bond with their child and feel confident about being able to make their baby feel good. This a wonderful time to learn your babies’ nonverbal cues. Infant massage is for both parents to learn including adoptive parents and foster parents. This is a special time to cherish.
The baby benefits from infant massage by bonding with their parent and learning how to relax. Infant massage enhances communication between parent and child, improves sleeping patterns, aids neurological development including sensory awareness, and can just be fun. The family benefits by having focused time with baby and becoming synchronized with baby’s rhythms. Parents are able to unwind and relax, build confidence while meeting baby’s needs, and have fun.
Group classes allow for social interaction, but sometimes packing up and going to a class is not feasible therefore virtual classes will also be offered. These classes are intended for full-term babies older than 3 weeks of age up to 3 years old. If your baby was preterm or has medical concerns please contact Makayla at 843-444-9095 or through email@example.com and I will be in touch as soon as possible. Please see our webpage for more information and to book your session. Pre-registration is required.
